Jammu, Jan 14: Chasing a total of 319 runs to win the match, Services were bundled out under 146 runs as Jammu and Kashmir won the game by 173 runs and has jumped to second spot in Elite Group C. Captain Parvez Rasool was adjusted Man of the Match for his all rounder performance with bat and ball.
Jammu and Kashmir continued on the overnight score of 184 for the loss of five wickets and added 17 runs to the total and declared on the score of 201 runs. Shubham Pundir 102 runs in 186 balls changed the game for Jammu and Kashmir after the opening batsman failed to score big.
For Services, none of the batsman could really score big and even failed to save the day for the team. Nakul Harpal Verma (wk) was the first scalp of Mudhasir on the score of 19 runs.
Then there was the partnership of 28 runs between Ravi Chauhan and Abhijit Salvi as it was the second highest of the Services. Services kept loosing wickets on quick bases. Half of the Service team were down on the score of 65 runs as rest of the team contributed 81 runs. For Services only three players managed to score in double figures. Abhijit Salvi scored 34 runs, Ravi Chauhan 13 and Arjun Sharma 54.
Arjun Sharma kept holding crease on one while others kept coming and going. For Jammu and Kashmir Captain Parveez Rasool took three wickets in 16 over’s with an economy of 1.44.
Mudhasir also took three wickets in 19 over’s conceding 45 runs. Umar Nazir and Auqib Nabi took two wickets each.
Jammu and Kashmir has now 26 points in five games with four wins and one draw. Jammu and Kashmir is going to face Odisha on 19 January and Services will face Haryana on same day.
Score board: Jammu and Kashmir first innings 360 runs, Second Innings 201-5 declare, defeats Services first innings 242 runs, second innings 146 runs by 173 runs.
