Early Times Report RAJOURI, Feb 15: In order to finalize the Detailed Project Reports of Cluster Tribal Model villages,the District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today convened a meeting of the concerned officers here in the Conference Hall of the DDC Office complex. The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Shama-Un Ahmed, Deputy Director Planning Bilal Rashil Mir, Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria, District Panchayat Officer, Dr.Abdul Khabir,Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Mohd Younis, Chief Horticulture Officer, Madan Lal Tak, Chief Agriculture Officer, Janak Raj, Executive Engineer, EM&RE, Rajouri, Munshi Khan, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Assistant Director FCs&CA, Mukhtar Ahmed Lone and Block Development Officer Budhal old, Salam Din. Block Development Chairperson Budhal Old, Javaid Iqbal, Sarpanches and panches of Budhal Old Block were also present in the meeting. A threadbare discussion was held in the meeting regarding the finalization of DPRs for the cluster model villages including Nahar Kassi, Gai, Pallanger, Jamola-Upper A and Jamola Upper-B. It was informed that an amount of Rs.10 crores has been sanctioned for the development of the said villages as Cluster Tribal Model villages. While speaking on the occasion,the DDC said that the DPRs should be prepared keeping in view to provide modern basic amenities and promote Education, Health, Skill Development, Horticulture, Agriculture, Dairy, Tourism in the areas with ST population so that they can compete with the rest of the populace earn a livelihood and live a dignified life. He advised the concerned officers to bring some innovation in the DPRs to be prepared for the Cluster Tribal Model villages with the sole aim of enhancing the economy of these villages.He asked them to keep the provision of plantation in the DPRs in order to keep the environment clean and green.He asked the concerned officers to submit the DPRs within shortest possible time so that work on the projects can be started as soon as possible. Meanwhile the DDC also interacted with the sarpanches and panches to take first hand appraisal of the issues and problems being faced by the general public of their areas.The sarpanches and panches projected major issues of their areas including improvement in drinking water facility, augmentation of power supply and medicare facilities, improvement in road conditions, paucity of staff in health and education institutions, replacement of worn out PHE pipes,shortage of electricity poles, SBM and MGNREGA payments etc. DDC gave a patient hearing to the issues raised during the meeting and said that district administration Rajouri is committed to provide all the basic facilities at the doorsteps of the public and necessary steps are being taken to ensure the same. He assured the PRI members that all their genuine demands and issues will be redressed in a phased manner. |
