UDHAMPUR, Feb 15: The Safai Karamcharies of Municipal Committee Udhampur have been burning the garbage, containing polythene bags behind Bhagat Singh Park, thus polluting the environment. Morning walkers and yoga practitioners face a lot of problems due to such activities of municipality employees, as they are forced to breathe polluted air, a social activist said. A yoga performer said that on frequent occasions, they informed the concerned authorities about the issue but nothing has been done. He also said that many of yoga performers and others coming to park daily for exercises fall ill and face breathing problems. They urged the DC Udhampur to look into the matter and take corrective measures. |
