EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Feb 15: National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today exhorted the party cadre to reach out to the people at grass roots level and help seek redressal to their problems on various fronts and stand by them.
“National Conference has all along remained in the forefront for safeguarding interests, identity and dignity of the people and the role of cadre in this regard cannot be undermined”, Provincial President Rana said while addressing the party’s Provincial Party functionaries at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this afternoon.
Rana exuded confidence that the party workers and functionaries will play their designated role by highlighting the issues of immense public importance at appropriate forums for expeditious redressal.
Rana expressed concern over acute developmental inertia and alarming jobs crunch and called for major course correction to put Jammu and Kashmir on the path of recovery.
The Provincial President sought filling up of vacant posts in various government departments on fast-track basis to address the burgeoning unemployment problem in Jammu and Kashmir. He called for adequate openings for skilled and unskilled work-force, saying job crunch has pushed them to the wall. To address their genuine concerns, he hoped the administration will adopt a pro-active policy in completing the recruitment process at various levels in a time bound manner.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included Ajay Kr Sadhotra, Surjeet Singh Salathia, Rattan Lal Gupta, Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Javed Ahmed Rana, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, Babu Rampaul, Abdul Gani Malik, Dr Chaman Lal Bhagat and others.
