REASI, Feb 15: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today met scores of deputations and listened to their issues during a public grievance redressal camp, here at Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Around 30 memorandum of demands were submitted by people coming from across this mountainous district.
Majority of deputations were led by BDC chairpersons, who projected issues of public importance of their respective blocks and sought the intervention of the Advisor for early redress of the same.
Among the deputations, one from Chinkah demanded tapping of tourism potential of areas like Dagantop, Maltop and Panjimaal of the region.
Responding to demand of developing fish farming in the region, the Advisor sought detailed proposal from the department.
A deputation, led by BDC Chairman Pouni, sought development of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine as a major religious tourist destination.
It was given out that around 3 lakh pilgrims visit the shrine during 3 day Shivratri Festival with an average footfall of 3 thousand daily. The Advisor called upon the Chairman, the district administration and the locals to sit together regarding the Ransoo Master Plan.
On the problem of erratic power supply repeatedly projected by the locals, the Deputy Commissioner informed that a grid station is coming up at Reasi, which would greatly solve the power woes of the district.
