RAJOURI, Feb 22: Taking cognizance of local issues and incomplete projects highlighted by Early Times, which were languishing for the last many years, the District Administration Rajouri took initiative in this connection and started work on much needed developmental works to fulfill the demands and aspirations of the locals.
Sources in the district administration told Early Times that the road from Gujjar Mandi to Abdullah Bridge, which used to witness heavy traffic jam was resolved by constructing divider on the direction of administration.
They further said that the work of Circular Road from Tariq Bridge to Hospital road, which is 4-5 kms long stretch alongside river, was withheld since long time but now administration has swung into action passed directions to take up the matter and the work has been going to be started soon. The road will also provide an alternative to the locals.
“There is another alternative road namely Bella Road, which was dotted with huge potholes making it non- motorable, now district admin got its surface’s work done and in next few months black topping will also be done,” they said further adding that a 120 meters long single lane motorable bridge at the cost of Rs 7.20 crore, which was languishing for last so many years has been given nod for its completion.
When contacted, DDC Rajouri Nazir Ahmed Shiekh said that he is committed to carry out all developmental work in the district. “Being the resident of Rajouri district, I am well aware of the various problems of the area being faced by the locals and administration will take all possible steps to mitigate problems of the people,” DDC said.
