Valedictory programme on employability skill enhancement concludes

Jammu, Feb 22: The valedictory programme of 12 days training on “Employability Skill Enhancement” concluded in Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, under the “Employment and Skill Enhancement Scheme” of J&K Higher Education Department, an initiative of Talat Pravez Rohella, Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education Department, from 10th to 22nd February, 2020. The purpose of this training programme was to create increased job opportunities for the students of J&K. The Commissioner Secretary with a vision to inculcate competitiveness amongst the students has created a learning environment in the colleges through such programmes which will help transform the youth for their holistic development. He insisted that targeting the youth with such training will result in productive job creation for them in the market. The programme was attended by the teachers and students of the college.
Prof. Incharge of the training programme, Savita Jamwal, welcomed one and all by saying that the model of Mahatma Gandhi to impart education regarding skill development is to gain employment in their future.
She stated that the programme will play a key role in the lives of students. A concluding report of the programme was read by Prof. Bharti Slathia presenting the details of the last 12 days activities.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal of the college, Prof. Ranjeet Singh Jamwal said that now-a-days when there is tough competition for jobs, skill development is very significant and the employability opportunities will increase manifold when we train the students. He thanked the Higher Education department for providing a platform to the students of the college to gain skill in various fields.
