Punjab faculty delivers extension lecture | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 22: Department of Geography Govt. P.G. College Rajouri organized an extension lecture on Human Induced Disasters with Special Reference to Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir to create awareness about different parameters of manmade disasters, their impacts and consequences. The speaker of the extension lecture was a renowned Geographer, Prof. Anupreet Singh Tiwana, Head Department of Geography, Mata Gujri College Autonomous (Deemed to be University) Fateh Garh Sahaib, Punjab. Prof. Tiwana has focussed on drug abuses in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir and involvement of youth in it. He also made aware of the students about the negative impacts of Drugs on youth. Besides this he has also spoken about the negative impacts of green revolution on Human Health and stress upon the use of organic and indigenous practices of agriculture. Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina presented the welcome address and also presided the event whereas Dr. Javaid Ahmed Mughal Vice Principal of the college was also present on the occasion. Other faculty members present on the occasion were Dr. Nawaz Ahmed, Prof. Robina Kouser, Prof. Tamana Sharma and Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed from the Department of Geography. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Mohd. Tufail. Large number of students attended the programme.
