| Inter-block chess, carrom tournament held | | |

REASI, Feb 27: District Youth Services and Sports Office Reasi today organized inter-block (district level) chess and carrom matches, here at Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajinder Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The matches were played between winners of block level competitions held earlier this month.
The chief guest appreciated the players for reaching at district level. He advised the youngsters to choose sports to stay fit and away from evils like drugs. A pledge of sportsmanship was also administered to the participants.
As per District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Subash Chander, the event is being organised on the directions of Director General Youth Services & Sports UT J&K, Dr Salim ur Rehman to identify and nurture talent from all corners, including the remotest panchayats of the district. |
