KUPWARA, Mar 11: Although as per Right to Information (RTI) guidelines, the respondent must reply within a one month’s period of submission of application but the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Division Handwara has failed to provide desired information sought by an RTI activist within stipulated time frame. One Mir Imran had filed an RTI application on February 1, 2020 with PHE Division Handwara to seek information about expenditure of funds, E-tendering, total expenditure of oil, lapsed amount, fund received for M&R, approved by, details of individual beneficiary, amount withdrawn, allotment of funds etc from May 2018 till date in PHE Division Handwara, details of tenders and quotations thereof and details of vouchers. “But the concerned PHE Executive Engineer, Division Handwara has failed to provide information within the stipulated time frame, said RTI applicant, adding, “The delay itself indicates that there is something wrong in the PHE Division Handwara about funds.” The RTI applicant has appealed LG GC Murmu to intervene in the matter and demanded strict action against PHE Executive Engineer Division Handwara for not providing information under RTI Act 2005. |
