2 separate modules of militants busted; Arms and ammunition recovered | | | S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 11: Police today claimed to have busted two separate modules of HM and LeT militant outfits from Kupwara and Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Sources while quoting a local news agency said that police on Wednesday has busted a militant module of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit by arresting three of its associates. “Acting on specific information Kupwara Police and army’s 5 Bihar regiment busted the module which was active in the Kralpora area of district Kupwara,” a police spokesman said in a statement. He said that three militant associates affiliated with the organization have been arrested, they were in close contact with high profile militant commander Bashir Peer alias Imtiyaz Alam operating in Pakistan.” The arrested accused were identified as Aijaz Ahmad Payair son of Ghulam Mohammad Payair of Kunan Poshpora Kupwara, Mohammad Altaf Payair son of late Ghulam Qadir Payair of Dardsun Kupwara and Abdul Rouf Malik son of Ghulam Ahmad Malik of Dardsun Kupwara. “These individuals were active in the area for last 8 months and were involved in various subversive activities and providing shelter, logistic support to militants,” he said, adding. “The trio was also tasked with recruiting new militants from Kupwara district. During the course of investigation arms, ammunition and other incriminating material have been recovered.” He said a case (FIR No 13/202O U/s 13, 18, 39 ULAP act & 7/25 IA Act) has been registered in PS Kralpora and further investigation has been taken up. Meanwhile, Police in Budgam have arrested three JeM militant associates and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession. “Acting on a specific input, police along with security forces arrested three militant associates affiliated with proscribed militant outfit JeM. They have been identified as Dilawar Sofi, Sameer Yousuf Ganie and a minor all residents of Chadoora Budgam,” a police spokesman said in a statement. The arrested persons were active in the area for last few months and were involved in various subversive activities and providing shelter and logistic support to militants, the spokesman said. He said that, “On their disclosure, incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have also been recovered, adding a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in police station Chadoora and further investigation is in progress. |
