Jammu, Mar 11: Sport Climbing Training Camp organized by Mountaineering Association of J&K under the aegis of Indian Mountaineering Foundation North Zone Committee, to identify the talent at the grass root level concluded today at Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing wall in Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, Jammu. Neelam Khajuria, Joint Director Tourism, Jammu was the chief guest at the valedictory function who witnessed the demonstration of lead and speed climbing by international climbers Shivani Charak and Arun Deep Singh. She interacted with the trainees and showed keen interest to learn the finer points of the game. While congratulating the Association for producing national champions and international medalists she assured the organisers all possible help for the promotion of the game. On the occasion the chief Guest was presented a memento by Shawetica Khajuria, General Secretary of the Association. The 2 days camp in which about 49 local students including 22 girls participated was held under the technical guidance of Abhimanyu Sherpa, a pioneer sport climber of J&K and under the overall supervision of Shawetica Khajuria, an international judge and General Secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K. Sonam Sidharth, Sakshi Magotra, Vishali Sharma and Ajay Deep Singh were the Judges and Belayers of the training camp which was sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. Of India. |
