| 62 kg poppy straw recovered, 1 arrested | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Mar 11: Continuing JKP's drive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, Udhampur police recovered 62kg 420 grams of poppy straw from narcotic smuggler at Motorshed, Chenani Udhampur.
Giving details Rajiv Pandey, SSP Udhampur Police party of PS Chenani led by Insp. Paramjeet Singh SHO PS Chenani under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch Additional SP Udhampur and Ahmed Shaafi Zargar SDPO Chenani laid a naka at motorshed, NHW, Chenani.
During naka checking, police party intercepted one truck bearing registration no. HR62-5786 for checking. During checking of said vehicle, 62kg 420 grms of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. The accused person namely Rajdeep Singh resident Hoshiarpur, Punjab, was arrested on spot and recovered poppy straw was also seized. In this connection, a case FIR No. 45/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Chenani and further investigation of the case is going on. |
