Anantnag, Mar 15: Security forces on Sunday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in this south Kashmir district, official sources said.
They said troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint CASO early this morning following a tip off about the presence of militants at Waterigam in Anantnag.
All exit points were sealed and house-to-house searches launched, they said, adding that so far no contact has been established with the militants.
Meanwhile, additional security forces have been deployed in the adjacent areas to prevent any demonstration, they said, adding that details are awaited. |
