| Police recovers poppy straw in Udhampur, driver escapes | | |

Jammu, Mar 15 : Police have recovered a haul of poppy straw from a truck in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey here on Sunday said that 134 kg of poppy straw was recovered on Saturday night at Jakhani from a truck on the highway. Police party of PS Udhampur led by Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO PS Udhampur laid a naka at Jakhani, NHW, Udhampur.
During naka checking, police party intercepted one truck for checking from which 134 kg of poppy straw was recovered.
The driver managed to flee.
A case has been registered and investigation started. |
