15 months on, DSE Jammu fails to convert RETs into grade-II teachers | Issues fresh re-verification orders, teachers fume | | Early Times Report jammu, Mar 20: Even after passing of fifteen months the Directorate School Education (DSE) Jammu has miserably failed to complete the process of conversion of regularized Rehbar-e-Taleem (RET) teachers into teachers' grade-II. Teachers told Early Times that State Administrative Council which met under the chairmanship of the then J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik had taken a decision to convert all RRETs into teachers grade-II on 07-12-2018 and accordingly the Government had issued an order no. 20 dated 22.01.2019 for implementation of the SAC decision. "But shockingly till date all RRETs haven't been converted into teachers grade-II and teachers grade-III. Even regularization of many ReTs is still pending. These teachers are without salary for past 13 months," they said. They said that the recent circular issued by DSEJ vide No. DSEJ/RET/8710-26 dated 16.03.2020 in which a committee has been constituted to re-verify the documents / credentials/ appointment orders of all the ReTs / RRETs subsequently converted to teachers grade-II and teachers grade-III, will again put all teachers to pass through this cumbersome process. "Verification of the documents of these teachers has already been done by the department and once again doing so is nothing but harassment and insult of the teachers which is not tolerable," they said, adding that "they are not against the verifications of the documents but targeting only one section of teachers again and again on the name of re-verification is sheer humiliation. It challenges the credibility of these teachers who have been working in far flung areas of the UT," they added. |
