KUPWARA, Apr 4: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, today ordered for axing of all Russian species female poplar trees in the district within six days. DC, Anshul Garg exhorted upon the general public to themselves come forward for axing of this species of tree standing in their land as it is health hazardous because of its pollen which creates influenza like infections. DC said the Russian Female Poplar trees standing in government departments land including Forest, State land and Kacharie land shall be felled down by the concerned District Officers and Tehsildars within a period of 06 days. He also directed the Tehsildars to take steps in consultation with Police, Forest and Social Forestry Department to implement the order in letter and spirit. DC said in view of the situation arisen due to spread of COV1D-19, it has become imperative to take further preventive measures by way of felling down of Russian Female Poplar Trees as the pollen creates influenza like infection. Meanwhile with regard to the new positive case that were reported today by the government authorities, D C Kupwara in a social media message said that, it is an unfortunate news - 6 persons from Kupwara have tested positive today, including 3 males and 3 females. All of them have history of stay at Markaz Nizamuddin Delhi. All of these were already under quarantine but as per protocol, contact tracing is being carried out on a war footing. All of them are doing well by God’s grace and we wish them a speedy recovery, said Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg in a message. |
