Rajouri, Apr 13: Illegal mining has been going on unabated in village Barnara of tehsil Sunderbani of district Rajouri during lockdown. Sources said that a Naib Sarpanch is involved in illegal excavation of minor mineral from local Tawi. They said that the he has hired transport for this work and selling on high rates, which has been running from the last many days in sheer violation of Sec 188 RPC. Recently Rajouri police lodged FIR against many brick kiln owner for keeping their kiln function, when all works were suspended due to coronavirus. Locals demanded strict action against Naib Sarpanch. ADC Vinod Kumar, when contacted, his phone is continuously switched off. Meanwhile, SHO Sunderbani Sanjeev Singh Sambayal said that action will be taken against the violators.
