FCS&CA official caught on camera selling ration in black, storekeeper denies allegations | | | ASIF IQBAL NAIK Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 13: At the time when world is facing crises due to Corona Virus pandemic- and Government of India announced free ration for over 80 Cr people, In Kishtwar District of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the ration meant for the distribution among the poor people of remote Dachhan area is allegedly being sold in black to influential people, the charge denied by the storekeeper concern. As per the details available with Early Times, the video clip available with Early Times is exposing the open black marketing of ration is from- Govt ration store where the ration is being dumped for people of Dachhan and is being sold in black at Food Civil Supplies and Public Distribution Department store Patimhala - This store according to the officials is only used for dumping and later for on way transportation to Dachhan by ponies from Dangdoru onwards since the area is without road connectivity. In this video clip- two people could be seen loading the ration in a private vehicle which itself speaks volume about open black marketing of Govt ration meant for the poor people of Dachhan. Speaking to Early Times, Storekeeper Patimhala dumping store Khurshid Ahmed Shah denied the allegations of selling the government ration in black marketing. He said that due to ongoing lockdown, the dealer Pinjrari telephonically inform him about the non availability of ration with some poor families whose ration was pending at the store is in need of immediate ration so that they could not suffer during the lockdown. He said that due to non-availability of commercial vehicle during ongoing lockdown, he requested the local PRI for helping in shifting the ration in his vehicle so that they could provide the ration to those needy families. He said that some mischievous person recorded the video from backside of the adjoining wall and made the video viral on social media with the aim to malign him and the department. Speaking to Early Times, AD FSC&CA department Kishtwar Ghulam Rasool Lone said that the inquiry has been initiated against the storekeeper who has been asked to submit his reply accordingly. He said that the storekeeper submitted his report pledging innocence. He said that the preliminary report has been submitted to Director FSC&CA Jammu added that in-depth departmental inquiry will be conducted once the situation turn out to be normal after COVID 19 pandemic threat ends. He said that Sarpanch concerned and the dealer also vindicated the reply submitted by the storekeeper concern. |
