3 CRPF personnel injured in grenade attack, CASO launched | | | Early Times Report
Budgam, Apr 24: Three Central Reserve Police Force personnel were injured after militant’s hurled grenade at Duniwarim area of Chadoora Central Kashmir's Budgam district on Friday evening. As per the reports available, militant hurled grenade inside the 29 Battalion CRPF camp at the Duniwarim area of Chadoora. In the attack as per the reports, three troopers suffered injuries. The injured CRPF personnel have been identified as Inspector Mahesh Chand, Constable G Prakesh Rao, and constable K Sirnu. Reports said that the security forces fired shots in the retaliation; however, there were no casualties on the other side. A senior police official said that militants hurled a grenade on the troopers of 29 Battalion CRPF. The grenade exploded with a bang leaving 3 CRPF personnel injured. He added that jawans including an officer rank of inspector suffered minor injuries and their condition is to be stable. He added, “Soon after the attack, the security forces along with the additional forces of Special Operation Group and Army launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the area”. The CASO was in the area when this report was filed.
