| 131 bottles of liquor seized, 2 arrested | | |

JAMMU, Apr 28: Police today seized 131 bottles of whiskey from two persons at Domana while the duo was trying to illegally transport the liquor in their vehicle.
A police party of Police Station (PS) Domana during patrolling duty inspected one car bearing registration number JK02CB 4975 at Chouhna Chack of Sector Domana and apprehended two persons namely Surjeet Singh @ Kali son of Lt. Baldev Singh of Ghou Manhasan and Shakti Singh son of Balbir Singh of Ghou Manhasan and recovered 131 Whiskey Bottles (98 Ltrs 250 ML) from their possession.
Subsequently a Case FIR No. 100/2020 U/S 188/269/270/34/IPC, 48-a/Excise Act has been registered at PS Domana. Moreover the accused disclosed that the said liquor was purchased from one person namely Sourav Gupta@Bunty of Janipur, Jammu. Further investigation is going on the. Team was headed by SHO P/S Domana Chanchal Singh under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP (R) Suram Singh and the whole operation took place under the supervision of SSP Jammu Shridar Patil.
The accused person namely Surjeet Singh @ Kali is a notorious illegal alcohol supplier in the Sub Division Domana. In police records, 2 FIR’s already stands registered at PS Domana against the said accused.
The accused had been supplying illegal liquor during the lockdown period in the area of Pounichak, Ghou Manhasan, Sandawan and Gajansoo. This is measure set back to the illegal trade of liquor operating in the Sub Division Domana. |
