JAMMU, Apr 29: Kisan Sabha has expressed grave concern over the plight of labourers from J&K who have gone to other states for labour works and are stranded there due to ongoing lockdown. President Kisan Sabha, Hari Chand Jalmeria after holding a telephonic meeting with vice presidents Uday Chand, Dr Ghanisham Charak, Hari Om Singh, HS Lalotra, Balwant Singh, Sayed Rafiq Shah, Master Swaran Singh and general Secretary Dewan Chand said that many of these labourers, particularly hailing from the hilly belts of Billawar, Basohli, Bani, Ramnagar, Kandi belt of Kathua, Samba, Jammu and Udhampur districts have approached the Kisan Sabha with their agonies. Labourers stranded in various business establishments situated in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh etc. have complained that whatever they had earned, they have spent. They are facing food and shelter crisis. There is no medical checkup facility for them, no government has come forward for their help. They have requested Kisan Sabha to raise the issue of their plight with J&K and Union Govts. In this view, the leaders of Kisan Sabha have appealed the Central Govt, J&K Govt, and the Governments of different states to reach out to these labourers, arrange for their necessities of food, proper shelter, financial help, medical checkup and also arrange for their return to their respective homes. |
