Positive cases of COVID-19 reach 581 in JK, 33 percent patients recover so far | | | Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 29: As 16 fresh cases of Corona Virus came to the fore from five different districts of Kashmir valley today the number of positive cases of COVID-19 reached 581. At the same time more than 33 percent patients have recovered from Corona Virus in the union territory. Reports said that fresh cases were reported from Anantnag, Budgam, Srinagar, Baramulla and Kulgam districts of Kashmir valley. While nine cases were reported from Anantnag district in South Kashmir, four such cases came to fore from Budgam district in Central Kashmir. Srinagar, Baramulla and Kulgam districts accounted for one case each. Up to today the Kashmir valley has 523 positive cases of COVID-19 while as the number of COVID-19 patients in Jammu is 58. There is heartening news on the recovery front as 192 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in Jammu & Kashmir. As on date there are 381 active cases of Corona Virus in the union territory. At the same time eight persons have lost their lives due to Corona Virus. While seven patients have died in Kashmir one patient has died in Jammu division. Baramulla district has accounted for three deaths, Srinagar district two deaths with Bandipora, Anantnag and Udhampur districts accounting for a death each. The Jammu & Kashmir government through the media bulletin informed that 16 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), all from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 581. Out of 581 positive cases, 381 are active positive, 192 have recovered and eight have died. Moreover, 16 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals today which include five from Jammu division and 11 from Kashmir division. The bulletin said that out of 18,450 test results available, 17,869 samples have tested as negative till April 29, 2020. “Furthermore, till date 68,846 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which includes 6,440 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 244 in hospital quarantine, 381 in hospital isolation and 8,663 under home surveillance. Besides, 53,110 persons have completed their surveillance period”, said the bulletin. The bulletin said that Bandipora has 127 positive cases wherein 102 are active positive, 24 recovered, one died; Srinagar has 87 positive cases with 34 active positive, 51 recovered, two died; Shopian has 71 positive cases with 58 active positive, 13 recovered and Baramulla has 73 positive cases, 49 active positive, 21 recovered, three died. “Anantnag district has 71 positive cases with 70 active positive, one died; Kupwara has 49 positive cases with 30 active positive, 19 recoveries; Budgam has 19 positive cases out of which 10 are active positive with nine recovered cases; Ganderbal has 14 positive cases with nine active positive and five recovered; Kulgam has seven positive cases and all of which are active positive and Pulwama has five positive cases with two active positive, three recovered”, the bulletin said. The bulletin said that Jammu has 26 positive cases of whom three are active positive, 23 recoveries, Udhampur 20 positive cases of which three are active positive, 16 recovered and one died, while as Samba district has four positive cases and all the cases have recovered and Rajouri has four positive cases, one active positive and three have recovered. “Kathua has one positive case which is active positive; Kishtwar had only one positive case who has recovered; Ramban has one positive case which is active positive. Meanwhile, Reasi has one positive case which is active positive,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing. The bulletin informed that Jammu and Kashmir government has devised a robust mechanism of integrated Health Audit & Intensive Screening Framework through mobile ‘Swasthya Nidhi App’ for door to door survey to ascertain the spread of COVID-19 on “real time basis” for large areas. It said that the survey would enable the administration in taking measures for effective combat against the spread of novel corona virus. The ‘Swasthya Nidhi App’ is being used by screening teams to collect and capture the data from each and every household about the persons in the house hold, their travel history, any COVID-19 like symptoms and any previous health issues etc. in various districts across the Union Territory of J&K. |
