Cong pro-poor BJP cares for rich: Bhardwaj | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 4: Senior Congress leader, Mohinder Bhardwaj has said that the fact that Congress is the only party that firmly stands by the poor and underprivileged of the society has been again vindicated by Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s declaration that the party will pay rail fare of migrant labourers going back to their respective states. Describing the move as historic and timely, he said that it is a befitting reply to the Centre and ruling BJP which is the richest party in the world. While the Centre left these migrant workers, already rendered jobless and starving, in a lurch by suddenly demanding the train fare when many of them are penniless and BJP mutely standing at a distance, the Congress has dutifully come forward to help them in a humble manner. “This episode has also brought to fore the difference between politics of arrogance for which BJP of the day stands for and humbleness denoted by Congress,” he observed. Bhardwaj wondered that what for the huge amounts under Prime Minister care fund have been collected if this money is not be used for the welfare of people in dire needs whose life has been thrown out of gear by COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent total mishandling by the Centre. As already pointed out by former Congress President, Rahul Gandhi about the opaqueness of the fund, the denial of rail fare from this head to the migrant workers has further raised issue if propriety.
