Anantnag, May 10: Pahalgam Development Authority has demolished a structure that was raised illegally by a Srinagar based businessman during ongoing lockdown. “Structure raised at Aamad Wagad Pahalgam was demolished by demolition squad of Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA) during demolition drive,” Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authoirty, Muhstaq Ahmad Simnani told Early Times. He said the violator has raised the structure during the ongoing lockdown. “He (violator) was taking undue advantage of the ongoing lockdown and was raising construction in violation of Court directions and Pahalgam Master Plan,” he said. Simnani said that PDA has also initiated action against the violators at Movera Pahalgam. “PDA has taken strong note of reports that some violators were trying to construct shops at Movera Pahalgam but we not allow them to construct and they will be completely demolished,” he added. He said that they are also going to take against all those violators, who raised constructions at Pahalgam, last year during August clampdown. “We have a list of those who took undue advantage of the situation last year and raised constructions illegally at Pahalgam and we are going take action against them,” CEO said. The businessman, who owns a hospital in Srinagar, has also grabbed land at Gogran Batkoot and raised structures. “The hospital owner then deliberately handed over illegally constructed huts to security forces so that concerned departments can’t take action,” official told Early Times. |
