Fight against Covid: Where is MP from J&K, Ghulam Nabi Azad | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 15: All Members of Parliament (MPs) have contributed as much as they can to accelerate fight against Coronavirus, prominent political face from J-K, Ghulam Nabi Azad, is mysteriously missing from action. Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is also Rajya Sabha member from J-K, has not yet announced any contribution from his Constituency Development Fund to upgrade health infrastructure in J-K at this crucial time. Except Ghulam Nabi Azad, all MPs from J-K have released funds from MPLAD to fight Covid-19 especially to enhance health facilities in their respective areas. Former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Union Minister, Jitendra Singh, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Hasnain Masoodi and Mohammad Akbar Lone have release Rs one crore each from MPLAD to fight COVID-19. As Ghulam Nabi Azad has served as Health Minister in the Union Government so residents of J-K were hoping that Azad would play an important role in this crucial time but he is missing from the action. Azad had visited Kashmir in the second week of March when he came to meet Dr Farooq Abdullah who was released from detention a day before. After that Azad has not speak even a single word about fight against Covid in J-K. When all MPs had announced a contribution of Rs one crore each to fight Covid, people were expecting that Azad would play more important role. |
