Over 215 stranded migrant works leave Mendhar for Katra in Buses

MENDHAR, May 25 : Amid this COVID-19 lockdown district authorities Poonch on Monday arranged seven buses to ferry migrant labourers who are stranded in the Poonch district due to the lockdown.
Reports reaching Early Times a group of 215 stranded migrant workers from Bihar state left Mendhar area of district Poonch on Monday in seven buses which were arranged by Poonch admin.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Mendhar Dr. Sahil Janndyal while sharing details to Early Times said, over 215 stranded migrant works were screened for fever and other symptoms after tested all negative adequate social distancing precautions had been taken and food was being served to the passengers before leaving to Katra wherefrom they will journey by train to Uttar Pradesh's Bihar. He said all expenses were taken care of by the Government.
On the occasion, Tehsildar Dr Vikram Kumar Sharma and Naib Tehsildar Ashfaq Ahamd Fani were also present.
Meanwhile stranded migrant works thanked the district administration for their efforts to sent them back home amid this pandemic.
