Rahul’s immature talk | | | Former president of All Indian Congress Committee, Rahul Gandhi, has once again opened his mouth without even realizing what he is saying. Despite his party sharing power with Shiv Sena and NCP in Maharashtra, Rahul has said that his party cannot do anything vis-à-vis Corona crisis in the State. It seems that someone needs to remind Rahul Gandhi that the Congress leaders are a part of Udhav Thackeray’s cabinet and are ministers in the Maha-Agadi government. His party cannot shriek the responsibility by blaming Shiv Sena and NCP for the mismanagement in Maharashtra, where the number of Coronavirus cases are increasing at a rapid pace. The Congress too needs to accept the blame for lack of coordination in the all-important State of the country. Rahul Gandhi has also fired salvos at Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, by claiming that the four phases of nationwide lockdown have not served any purpose. And the Government of India has failed to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country. It's strange that when entire country has come together to fight this deadly virus, Rahul Gandhi and his party are trying to find the faults and are politicizing the pandemic, which has wreaked havoc across the world. Rahul seems to be unaware or he is pretending to feign ignorance about the fact that the death rate in India due to the COVID-19 has been lowest as compared to United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and other big countries. And these numbers could have been very high had the lockdown not been imposed. The leaders of the Grand Old Party of India are using the pandemic to target the Prime Minister Modi to score Brownie points. Their rhetoric and statements are aimed at creating a confusion in the minds of people. The Congress needs to play a role of responsible Opposition. Its leaders should realize that people are facing the most difficult times of their lives as the COVID-19 curve is increasing with each passing day. The COVID-19 hasn’t spared any State or Union Territory across the country. The exit plan which has been formulated by the GoI cannot be implemented successfully till everyone comes forward and makes it work. This is not the time to take jibes and shriek responsibilities. Leaders irrespective of their party affiliations and ideologies need to put up a collective front to fight COVID-19. They have to instill confidence among the people that this crisis will pass and life will return to normal. Triggering unnecessary controversies are not going to help anyone’s cause. Rahul Gandhi needs to grow up and behave like a matured politician. |
