| Cong holds monthly meet, highlights problems of transporters | | |

SAMBA, June 1: A monthly meeting of Congress party’s Vijaypur constituency unit was conducted under the leadership of Rajan Sharma.
In the meeting, people from different sections of the society met Sharma and apprised him about various issues. After giving patient hearing, Sharma assured them that he will raise their issues at appropriate level.
Addressing the meeting, Sharma said that the transport sector is severely affected due to various problems particularly regarding documentation of vehicles.
He said as per reliable information the ARTO office is charging late fee from vehicle owners for token and also for passing/inspection work despite of the knowledge that all the official work had come to stand still for more than last 70 days.
He said that instead of giving some relief to transporters the transport department is meting out injustice to them.
Sharma demanded from transport department that no late fee shall be charged for the lockdown period and consider their applications from the last validation day. |
