6/6/2020 10:15:36 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

KATRA, June 6: Hotel & Restaurant Association (HRA), Katra in a meeting held here today strongly condemned series of government actions which are inhuman and in contravention to the policies of center and unanimously decided that those be objected with full force.
The meeting which was attended by HRAK President Rakesh Wazir, Chairman Shyam Lal Kesar, Sr.Vice President Virender Kesar, Former President Shiv Kumar Sharma, Nishant Sharma, Amit Rahi, Vivek Sharma, Rohit Dubey, Ashwani Sharma etc. were unanimous in saying that it seems that government of Union Territory of J&K is taking the decisions which are disturbing the people in a big way and in the process are even forgetting that those decisions are in contravention to the policies of centre which virtually is ruling the Union Territory.
Wazir while speaking on the occasion said that where all central agencies including RBI, ESIC, Provident Fund are giving moratoriums to the people for payments of dues and are extending the dates of depositing of dues/returns of banks installments, Income Tax, ROC Returns etc. and various state governments have waived of the electricity/fixed charges like Andhra Pradesh has waived fixed charges for three months — March, April and May. Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Telangana have revised fixed charges to help small industries. Rajasthan has also deferred the payment of fixed electricity charges for March and April and on the contrary the government of UT of J&K have come up with an order wherein all the high ups of the department are assigned with the task of cutting the connections of the people whose dues are pending and particularly at a time when whole business is at stand still.
He further said that it is really surprising that the lockdown was announced by the government and likewise the business was stopped forcibly by the government by government orders and now in those circumstances instead of waiving of the electricity charges and electricity duties particularly of the Lock down like many other states did what justification the government has got in issuing of order of cutting the power supply of the people when the same government forcibly stopped the businesses.
