MBBA seeks reopening of closed Dogri News Unit in AIR HQ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 27: Matri Bhasha Bachao Andolan (MBBA) has sought reopening of closed Dogri News Unit in All India Radio (AIR) Headquarter, New Delhi and urged the Union MoS in PMO to intervene in the matter. MBBA convener, Hari Chand Jalmeria, in a statement issued here today said that Dogri News Unit at New Delhi was closed in 2016 and national bulletins of Dogri News were shifted to Jammu Station of All India Radio. Matri Bhasha Bachao Andolan protested and raised the issue with central government. He said that memoranda were sent to the Prime Minister and also given to Members of Parliament in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from Jammu. Later, instead of resuming the Dogri News Unit at Delhi, the broadcast of national bulletins of Dogri News were also closed in March 2020. The Maatri Bhasha Bachao Andolan, Jammu, again protested and raised the issue. It is heartening to note that with the intervention of MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, two national news bulletins of Dogri have been resumed. But the main issue still remains. That is of reopening the closed unit of Dogri in Central Headquarter of All India Radio at New Delhi. The Maatri Bhasha Bachao Andolan appeals to Dr Singh to take up this matter with the Central Govt and persuade it to reopen the closed Unit of Dogri in Delhi Headquarter of All India Radio. |
