Early Times Report

Jammu, June 29: A debate is generated in J&K after separatist radical leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani announced this morning to quit Hurriyat Conference. In the midst of the debate, some BJP leaders claimed that it was the result of the abrogation of Article 370 that Geelani was forced to quit the separatist amalgam.
A Kashmir based news agency, quoted BJP’s national vice president and incharge J&K Affairs, Avinash Rai Khanna, who claimed the resignation announced by Geelani was one of the biggest benefits of Article 370 roll back. “People of Kashmir have started reaping the benefits of Article 370 revocation and today’s decision by Geelani is one of the biggest outcomes of the Government of India’s move of scrapping the special status,” , news agency, quoted Khanna.
Khanna claimed that removal of Article 370 will ensure terror-free J&K and Geelani’s give-up step is just a beginning.
He added people of Kashmir will see a new era of peace, prosperity and development which seemed a distant dream during the separatism era. Khanna further added that BJP welcomes the decision of Geelani and hoped it will pave the way to others as well to shun the path of extremism.
However, BJP general secretary, Ram Madhav squarely blamed Geelani for the deaths of thousands of youth in Kashmir Valley.
“This man was singularly responsible for ruining the lives of thousands of Kashmiri youths n families; for pushing Valley into terror n violence. Now resigns from Hurriyat without giving a reason. Does it absolve him of all d past sins?”, Ram Madhav tweeted.
