Major fire tragedy averted at DC office complex Kishtwar | | | ASIF IQBAL NAIK EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 30: A major fire tragedy was today averted with timely action of the Fire Services Department as a result of which the multipurpose meeting hall at new DC office complex was prevented from gutting in the incident. As per the details available with Early Times, the fire broke out in multipurpose meeting hall at New DC office Kishtwar as a result of which it started to engulf the whole building, but due to timely notice of the flame and the smoke by the officials who were working till late hours in the offices, the fire service department swung into action and stopped the fire from spreading. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara, ADDC Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik, ADC Kishtwar and other senior officials from PDD and JKPCC immediately rushed to the spot and supervised the rescue operation. After 45 minutes of hard efforts the fire was brought under control. Due to fire, chairs, tables, electronic equipment kept inside the meeting hall suffered damages along with the ceiling of the hall. The electric short circuit is said to be the main cause of the fire, however the exert cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. After hearing about the tragic fire incident, various senior officials also rush to the spot and express shock of the tragic fire incident. As per tentative estimate, the meeting hall suffered damages to the tune of Rs 10-15 lakh.
