Yudhvir Sethi releases album without wearing face mask, violates COVID protocol | VIP culture prevails even after J&K becomes UT | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 2: J&K Vice-President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Yudhvir Sethi, seems to believe that he is “immune” to COVID-19 and he is “virus proof.” On Wednesday Sethi released a devotional song album in Jammu without wearing a face mask and his pictures which appeared in newspapers clearly depicted that social distancing norm were not followed. “BJP leaders like Sethi are trying to send a message that they are above the law and no one can act against them for not following the COVID-19 protocol,” an observer told Early Times. He said, “By violating the COVID norms Sethi has once again proved that the VIP culture is still prevalent in Jammu and Kashmir and it turning into a Union Territory has not made much difference for the politicians.” An analyst said, “Someone needs to ask these BJP leaders are all the rules and norms only meant for a common man? Since the day lockdown has been eased many commoners have been booked for not wearing the face mask. Why no action is being taken against the politicians and the leaders who are violating the COVID norms openly?” He said, “Its not for the first time that any BJP leader has violated the COVID norms they did it even during the lockdown. In order to prove that they are philanthropists they distributed aid in their constituencies and issued lengthy press notes and photographs about their activities. More than help these acts were aimed at gaining publicity. They seem to enjoy impunity as the administration has not taken any action against them.” “Yudhvir Sethi releasing an album without caring for COVID threat being prevalent is a glaring example of these politicians believing that they are above the law. The need to be told that no one is above the law,” the analyst added. |
