| Kathua admin discusses BADP Annual Action Plan | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, July 18: Annual Action Plan (2020-21) /Medium Term Plan for 4 years of Border Area Development Programme( BADP) was today discussed here at a meeting of concerned officers chaired by District Development Commissioner, Om Parkash Bhagat.
The meeting decided to take up development projects of border areas identified by different departments viz PWD, PHE, PDD, Irrigation, Health and RDD with the ceiling of Rs 1.27 Cr per year out of total outlay of Rs 5.10 Lakh under Medium Term Plan.
Threadbare discussions on proposed projects submitted by different departments were held. The DC stressed on taking works under convergence mode with various line departments to benefit border dwellers under different schemes/ programmes.
He called for giving due consideration to the demands of local people by involving elected PRI representatives before submitting the plan to the authorities. He directed officers of line departments to identify the left out pockets of border villages and create development assets in line with laid down BADP guidelines.
The DDC also called for taking up a Skill Development Programme in border areas with special focus on vocational studies and training to youth for self employment and skill up gradation of artisans and weavers.
The geo-tagging of the completed works with the photographs and timely submission of utilization certificates by the concerned departments was stressed upon.
Among others the meeting was attended by Commandant BSF, CPO, ACD, Executive Engineers of PWD, PDD, PHE and Irrigation were present in the meeting.
