Dr Richa appointed as President of JCUSS | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 18, Dr. Richa Kothari Associate Professor was appointed as first ever woman president of Jammu Central University Shakshik Sangh. Dr.Richa Kothari Associate Professor has been named as new President for the next 2 years. Dr Richa is the first woman to hold the Presidency of JCUSS Jammu Central university for next 2 years. She will replace outgoing president Dr Govind Singh, who announced his intention to retire . JCUSS Executive ratified the appointment of Dr Richa Kothari following a special meeting on Friday. J&K UT President Devraj Thakur said Prof Richa would be a “great appointee and one in whom we have every faith in to lead the university at a challenging time. She has already demonstrated her capacity for leadership in her role as active member of ABRSM”. Dr Deepak Pathania Ex- President JCUSS said there has long been a significant gender imbalance at senior leadership level in universities. “It is fitting that JCU now has the first female president given our consistent leading position on gender equality in higher education in J&K . Dr Ajay K Singh sr. Vice President proposed the name of Dr Richa Kothari and second by Dr Rasal Singh, Dr Deepak Pathania and ex Gen Secretary Dr Jegan Nathan, Dr JN Baliya,Dr Sunil Dhar,Dr Ratnesh Yadav Dr Ritu Bakshi,Dr Yaswant Singh,Dr Archana were also present in the meeting.
