JAMMU, Aug 7: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) extended its warm welcome to Manoj Sinha on his taking over as the new Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Conveying his best wishes to the Lt. Governor, Ravinder Raina, President ASKPC stated that the appointment of an experienced political leader, who has a vast experience as an administrator also, augers well for the present political & security scenario in the UT. It is expected that the progressive developmental activities shall be carried to their logical and positive conclusions under Manoj Sinha’s leadership. ASKPC, the oldest representative organization of the Kashmiri Pandit community since 1931, expects amelioration of the numerous issues confronting the community since the forced exodus in 1990, under the new political dispensation. As a first step to lend a serious ear to the community, ASKPC demands that a Kashmiri Pandit should be inducted in to the proposed Advisory set up in the UT, so that the beleaguered community feels a connect with the political/administrative machinery. ASKPC assures its full co-operation to the Lt Governor in his endeavor to bring peace, stability and development to the UT of J&K, this was stated by Dr T K Bhat, General Secretary of the organization. |
