The Bitter Truth
8/11/2020 12:27:17 AM

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam has stirred the Hornet’s Nest by unveiling the truth about the Kashmir centric politicians and the others who treated J&K as their fiefdom.
His assertion that J&K was a “broken state” and the entire system had been messed up left the Kashjmir centric politicians, who have ruled J&K in the past, dumbfounded.
Their sharp reactions were on the expected lines as they were ruffled and stood exposed. Everyone is aware of the fact that the Kashmir centric leaders were not sincere. They worked for their own development and were not interested in welfare of the people.
The governance model of these politicians was a complete failure as they never strived to make J&K self reliant.
They spoke about, India, Pakistan and other things, but never made an attempt to develop infrastructure, build universities and other institutions through which people could have got benefitted.
The Chief Secretary’s assertion that not a single soul protested against their arrest on August 5, 2019, when Centre announced it’s decision to revoke J&K’s special status left them fuming, as they couldn’t digest the truth.
Before issuing statements these politicians should sit back and introspect and ask themselves why no one came to seek their release? What made people happy after their arrest? What happened to the support which they claimed to enjoy?
The J&K Chief Secretary minced no words to drive home a point that the erstwhile State was in shambles.
These politicians are not in a position to explain anything. They can just enact dramas to hoodwink the people.
The last one year has proved it beyond doubt that the ones who claimed to be the leaders of the masses for the past seven decades are nothing but paper tigers, who misled the people of Kashmir, and New Delhi both. They used to talk in one language in New Delhi and another in Kashmir.
Their politics revolved around deceit and falsehood. Centre’s August 5 decision has shattered many myths about these so-called leaders, who during the past seven decades have sold just dreams and illusions to people.
These politicians should bear in mind that they can no more preach lies and play politics by showing green cloth and rock salt. If they really want to remain relevant they will have to muster courage and speak the truth.
