| Secretary Higher Education visits GDC Bishnah | | |

Jammu, Aug 21: The Commissioner Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Talat Parvez Rohella paid a visit to Government Degree College, Bishnah to inspect the under construction prefabricated infrastructure, functioning of the College and to select the permanent site for the college.
Located in the heart of Bishnah town, GDC Bishnah is about 25 kms away from Jammu city and covers about 137 adjoining villages having a total population of about 2.50 to 3 lakhs approximately.
The college Principal, Dr. Anuradha Pandoh welcomed the Commissioner/ Secretary by presenting him a floral bouquet. Later she apprised the Commissioner of the existing infrastructure, student strength, total staff and subjects offered at the college. She also informed him that the necessary approval has been received from the Jammu University for starting admission in the subjects of Physical Education, Library Sciences and Management from the current session only. He also interacted with the faculty members of the college and responding to the demand of the faculty of Punjabi, he readily approved the introduction of Punjabi in the college. While reviewing the ongoing construction work of prefabricated 4 classrooms and 4 laboratories, the Commissioner Secretary issued directions to the AEE PWD to strictly complete the construction work by 15th of September so that Science stream can be started from this session only. |
