| Sarpanchs, Panchs of Block Khoon extends support to MGNREGA workers’ strike | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Aug 24: Sarpanchs and Panchs of Block Khoon in Majalta have extended support to the ongoing strike of MGNREGA workers.
It is pertinent to mention here that the ongoing strike of MGNREGA workers under the banner of All Jammu Kashmir MNREGA Employees Association was launched to seek a recruitment policy for them as well as to make them permanent.
The JK UT Young Convener Nirmal Kesar of All Jammu Kashmir Panchayat Conference today came in the support of employees of MGNREGA. The sarpanchs and panchs of Khoon Block also extended their support for the demands of MGNREGA workers.
Nirmal Kesar said that MGNREGA employees work day and night to implement various schemes of the Rural Development Department at the grassroots level. He appealed to the UT government to take appropriate action regarding the future of MGNREGA workers, adding that these people should be made permanent in the Rural Development Department. Kesar appealed to all the sarpanchs and panchs of Jammu and Kashmir to come forward in support of MGNREGA personnel in their respective blocks.
