Safeguard jobs, lands for J&K residents: Tajinder | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 24: Social activist Tajinder Singh today said that he stands for the struggle to safeguard genuine rights of people to the lost identity of erstwhile State after abrogation of its special status last year. While interacting with a group of social activists, Tajinder said he demand for the restoration of full statehood of Jammu and Kashmir along with constitutional guarantee and safe guard for land and jobs to local residents. Singh regretted that people of Jammu and Kashmir were facing numerous problems due to callous approach of those at the helm of the affairs. "Woes of common people are compounding with every passing day due to non-serious approach of government", said Tajinder. Demanding economic package for J&K, Singh said present scenario demand to take care of labourers, shopkeeper, industrialists, traders and people who are associated with tourism industry and other sectors, who have been worst hit due to Covid-19. Singh said that any further delay in restoration of statehood can increase the feelings of cynicism and lack of confidence in political process, politicians and democratic institutions with in Jammu and Kashmir. "People are anxiously waiting for the announcement of statehood which has been announced by Home Minister that it will be restored as soon as possible in Jammu and Kashmir." Singh also government to consider waiving off electricity, water bills and other charges levied on people particularly the business sector.
