Rs 270 crore Jal Jeeven Mission Plan finalized for district Ramban

RAMBAN, Aug 24: The District Jal Jeevan Mission Committee (DJJMC), Ramban today finalized Rs 270 Crore Jal Jeven Mission Plan for the district here at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan.
The Committee headed by DDC comprises of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti Hydraulic Circle, Doda, Assistant Commissioner Development, DFOs of Ramban and Batote, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Hydraulic Division, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti PHE Mechanical Division and District Information Officer.
The objective of the Jal Jevan Mission is to provide functional household tap connections to every rural household by 2024.
It was informed that the Jal Jeven Mission Plan would be implemented in three phases, 1st phase- 2020-21, second Phase, 2021-22 and Third Phase 2022-23 in the district under which a total 89 schemes including 75 retrofitting and 14 new schemes would be completed in next three years.
In 1st phase four blocks of the district - Batote, Gandhri, Rajgarh and Sangaldan have been incorporated.
A total 29 water supply schemes, including 21 retrofitting and 8 new- four each for Batote and Gandhri block would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 88.13 crore.
In the 2nd phase, a total 16 schemes including 14 retrofitting and 2 new schemes, involving a cost of Rs 41.71 crore were finalized for Gool, Gundidhram and Khari blocks.
The Ramban, Banihal, Ukhral and Ramsoo blocks have been included in 3rd phase of the plan, envisaging 44 schemes including 40 retrofitting and 4 new schemes and costing Rs 140 crore. The plan aims at to provide 100% potable tap water supply of BIS Standard to every household, proper upkeep of water supply systems and maintaining sustainability for the next fifteen years, besides promoting efficiency in water usage.
