Jammu, Aug 24: All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations Unit Akhnoor organised ‘Save Rights’ meet at Akhnoor under the Chairmanship of Subash Samotra wherein RK Kalsotra, State President Confederation was the Chief Guest and Ramesh Uttama was the Guest of Honour. Akhnoor unit donated a cheque of Rs.15000/- to Kalsotra as a financial support to accelerate the social justice movement launched all over the state by Confederation. Kalsotra thanked the unit for their financial support.
While addressing, Kalsotra apprised the participants about his meeting with LG Manoj Sinha wherein he put the demands pertaining to welfare of the people of the SC, ST and OBC communities including restoration of reservation in promotion’s, toto implementations of 27% reservation to OBCs, clearance of pending backlog in recruitment, imposition of Forest Act, shifting of Directorate of National Commission Offices of SC/STs in Jammu, adequate representation of SC/ST/OBCs in Constitutional bodies, Commissions, Boards and Judiciary, and construction of Dr BR Ambedker Bhawan and advised the participants to gearup the movement and take this movement at village level and educate the SC, ST & OBC masses to build pressure on the govt to get rights.
