JAMMU, Aug 30: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri has appealed to general public of Jammu to cooperate with health authorities of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir in conducting rapid COVID-19 tests in different localities, bazars and shopping centres, so that enhanced data collected could help people isolate themselves and make sure that graph of pandemic is flattened as soon as possible. This will also help in containing the community spread of virus. Raman Suri said, now that the government has decided to allow home quarantine all asymptomatic COVID-19 positive cases in Jammu province with conditions, people must come forward and get themselves tested in all localities as scheduled by government. He said that already, rapid tests in some localities have enabled Government to detect many positive cases, who have been home quarantined. This way, those affected have been isolated. He appreciated Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for ordering such a move that will help people to get themselves checked for COVID-19 in their localities only. In Kashmir as well, home isolation with conditions of free oxymeter, compulsory Arogya Setu App download and proper isolation space with a poster outside the house has been ordered. This is good for affected persons as well as government. Suri said, at some places people did cooperate but some markets behaved immature by denying COVID-19 tests, which is not a healthy sign. He urged people and businessmen to cooperate with the government.
