Upgradation of SIEs into SCERT a welcome step: Lecturers' Forum | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 30: A meeting of "All J&K Plus Two Lecturers' Forum" was held under the leadership of its president Deepak Sharma through teleconferencing in which the Forum hailed the government decision for establishment of SCERT by upgrading existing SIEs in UT of J&K thereby fulfilling the long pending demand of the forum. Deepak Sharma informed the house that SCERT, an apex organization at UT level will serve as an academic authority on the analogy of NCERT for improving the quality of School Education focusing on in-service and pre-service teacher training programmes, research projects, curriculum development, course development, development of Publication and dissemination of teaching learning material etc for School Education Department exclusively under the control of Secretary School Education Department. Forum further hoped that burning issues and grievances of 10+2 cadre like Assured Career progression (ACP)/ Time Bound Promotion and Induction Quota into KAS in favour of Plus Two Lecturers till the Education Adminstrative Service (EAS) is constituted from the Academicians/officers drawn from the School Education department will be resolved by Principal Secretary Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon on priority. |
