EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 30: Lalded Women’s Welfare Society (LWWS) staged a nukkad play ‘Whatsapp Ke Deewane’ here today as a part of its Saturday series in presence of impressive gathering including eminent citizens of the area. The play was written by Surya Naryan and Directed by Naveen Pal. The play focused about today’s youth, who are busy using social media. In the play, the protagonist Natu got a new phone and he always remains busy in his mobile surfing social media sites like whatsapp, facebook, instagram, tik tok etc. Natu didn’t focus on his studies and didn’t listen to his parents. In the final exam Natu fails and he realizes that he should listen to his parents at that time. The play gave the message that today’s youth all the while remains active on social media instead of physical activity and paying attention towards their studies. It also highlights that the society is becoming more concerned with Facebook "friends" than with the people around with whom face-to-face interaction hardly takes place in our daily lives? We see people checking smartphones every two minutes, looking for the latest tweet or status update. It’s important yet difficult to retain the attitude that these sites may be useful, but that's all they are—tools, not lifestyles. Doctor advised that extensive use of such devices not only make loss of memory but also create multiple faults in human body. Thus, we should use these things with care and precautions. The performances were played by Naveen Pal, Rahul Singh, Ravi, Rahul Verma, Mehak, Sakshi Gupta and Deepak.
