Govt agencies lack coordination; Corona out of control in Jammu district | Panic gripped people, officers still in deep slumber | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 5: On Saturday Jammu district recorded single-day highest 520 positive cases of Covid-19. During the last four days Jammu district has surpassed all other 19 districts of J&K in reporting positive Corona cases. Jammu district has turned into a hotspot in the Union Territory of J&K-thanks to lack of coordination among different government agencies. Not only has this district witnessed unprecedented surge in the positive cases, numbers of deaths have also increased in this district due to lack of better facilities in the so-called dedicated COVID hospitals. While all influential persons are getting VIP treatment in a private hospital, the common people- infected with virus, have no other option but to get treatment in “dedicated” COVID hospitals where doctors rarely attend them. Credible sources said that it was all due to lack of coordination among different government agencies that Corona is virtually out of control in Jammu district. Instead of formulating a comprehensive policy, bureaucrats at the helm of the affairs are working on their own style without caring about the health of the common people. “Officers are very aware that influential persons are getting better and VIP treatment in a private hospital so there is no need for them to be worried”, sources said and added that majority of COVID patients admitted in government hospitals were cured only due to their immune system because they were not provided any treatment by the doctors. During the last 10 days, 32 patients reportedly died in Jammu due to lack of facilities in the government hospitals. On September 3 Jammu district had recorded 484 positive cases which were more than total cases of Kashmir Valley, creating panic among people. On September 4 322 cases were reported in the district which was highest in the Union Territory. |
