Forty per cent students appear in UPSC in J&K | | | EArly Times Report
Jammu, Oct 4: As many as 40 per cent students on Sunday appeared in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) preliminary examination in Jammu and Kashmir. Sharing the details, Talat Parvez Rohella, Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department here said that the Union Public Service Commission preliminary examination was conducted in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. He said that more than 18000 students have registered themselves for this examination but only 40 per cent (nearly 8000) students appeared due to COVID situation. The Commissioner Secretary added that 21 locations were selected for conducting this examination at 27 centres. He said the education department have used Degree Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools as examination centres. "Students were very happy that government took the decision to conduct UPSC examination because normally this examination was conducted in the month of June but because of COVID, it was postponed," he added. Neha, an aspirant thanked the Government for conducting the examinations. She said all SOPs and guidelines issued by the government, were in place and students were also provided masks and sanitizers at the centres. |
