SRINAGAR, Oct 4: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 878 fresh cases of Corona Virus today while as 11 more virus related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. The total number of positive cases is 79,106 with the total number of casualties being 1,242.
Jammu district reported 252 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 156 cases, Bandipora district 54 cases, Budgam district 53 cases, Baramulla district 52 cases, Kishtwar district 49 cases, Rajouri district 35 cases, Ganderbal district 33 cases, Anantnag district 30 cases, Udhampur district 27 cases, Samba district 22 cases, Kathua district 21 cases, Pulwama and Poonch districts 17 cases each, Doda district 14 cases, Kupwara district 12 cases, Reasi district 11 cases, Shopian nine cases, Ramban district eight cases and Kulgam district six cases.
Jammu district reported three fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Srinagar district two deaths and a death each in Budgam, Anantnag, Bandipora, Rajouri, Udhampur & Kathua districts. So far 860 deaths have taken place due to COVID-19 in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 382.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 878 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 456 from Jammu division and 422 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 79,106. Also 11 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; six from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 1,053 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 525 from Jammu Division and 528 from Kashmir Division. Out of 79,106 positive cases, 15,460 are active positive, 62,404 have recovered and 1,242 have died; 382 in Jammu division and 860 in Kashmir division.
Out of 17, 07,503 test results available, 16, 28,397 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 5, 91,771 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 22,258 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 15,460 in isolation and 48,301 under home surveillance. Besides, 5, 04,510 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 15,533 positive cases, 1908 active positive, 13,324 recovered, 301 deaths; Budgam has 5,075 positive cases, 806 active positive, 4,182 recovered, 87 deaths; Baramulla has 4,575 positive cases, 1,314 active positive, 3,137 recovered, 124 deaths; Pulwama has 4,052 positive cases, 391 active positive, 3,591 recovered, 70 deaths; Kupwara has 3,729 positive cases, 738 active positive, 2,923 recovered, 68 deaths.
“Anantnag has 3,624 positive cases, 484 active positive, 3,073 recovered, 67 deaths; Bandipora has 3,568 positive cases, 449 active positive, 3,080 recovered, 39 deaths; Ganderbal has 2,990 positive cases, 287 active positive, 2,674 recovered, 29 deaths; Kulgam has 2,297 positive cases, 113 active positive, 2,141 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,050 positive cases, 160 active positive, 1,858 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 14,514 positive cases, 3,534 active positive, 10,777 recovered, 203 deaths; Rajouri has 2,789 positive cases, 775 active positive, 1,978 recovered, 36 deaths; Udhampur has 2,369 positive cases, 461 active positive, 1,887 recovered, 21 deaths; Doda has 2,285 positive cases, 906 active positive, 1346 recovered, 33 deaths; Kathua has 2,140 positive cases, 333 active positive, 1,781 recovered, 26 deaths.
“Poonch has 1,859 positive cases, 915 active positive, 928 recovered, 16 deaths; Samba has 1,854 positive cases, 697 active positive, 1,135 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 1,396 positive cases, 233 active positive, 1153 recovered, 10 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,373 positive cases, 628 active positive, 736 recovered, nine deaths and Reasi has 1,034 positive cases, 328 active positive, 700 recovered, six deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 79,106 positive cases in J&K, 8,924 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
