SRINAGAR, Oct 9: The death toll due to Corona Virus in Jammu & Kashmir crossed the 1,300 figure and reached 1,306 as 15 more virus affected patients died in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 636 fresh cases today following which the total number of positive cases is 82,429. Srinagar district reported 167 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 101 cases, Baramulla district 50 cases, Budgam district 38 cases, Rajouri district 31 cases, Anantnag, Udhampur and Samba districts 26 cases each, Ganderbal district 25 cases, Pulwama district 23 cases, Kathua district 22 cases, Bandipora and Reasi districts 17 cases each, Kishtwar district 15 cases, Kupwara district 14 cases, Poonch district 10 cases, Ramban district eight cases, Kulgam and Doda districts seven cases each and Shopian district six cases. Jammu district reported seven fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by two deaths each in Srinagar, Rajouri & Poonch districts and a death each in Baramulla & Kathua districts. So far 885 COVID-19 deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 421. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 636 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 263 from Jammu division and 373 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 82,429. Also 15 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 12 from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 959 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 546 from Jammu Division and 413 from Kashmir Division. Out of 82,429 positive cases, 11,144 are active positive, 69,979 have recovered and 1,306 have died; 421 in Jammu division and 885 in Kashmir division. Out of 18, 00,252 test results available, 17, 17,823 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 09,728 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 26,029 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 11,144 in isolation and 48,084 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 23,165 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 16,331 positive cases, 1,779 active positive, 14,240 recovered, 312 deaths; Budgam has 5,300 positive cases, 742 active positive, 4,469 recovered, 89 deaths; Baramulla has 4,811 positive cases, 1,487 active positive, 3,197 recovered, 127 deaths; Pulwama has 4,192 positive cases, 324 active positive, 3,796 recovered, 72 deaths; Kupwara has 3,841 positive cases, 625 active positive, 3,146 recovered, 70 deaths. “Anantnag has 3,734 positive cases, 331 active positive, 3,334 recovered, 69 deaths; Bandipora has 3,663 positive cases, 372 active positive, 3,250 recovered, 41 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,100 positive cases, 281 active positive, 2,789 recovered, 30 deaths; Kulgam has 2,324 positive cases, 82 active positive, 2,199 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,085 positive cases, 132 active positive, 1,921 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 15,051 positive cases, 1504 active positive, 13,328 recovered, 219 deaths; Rajouri has 2,952 positive cases, 541 active positive, 2,370 recovered, 41 deaths; Udhampur has 2,469 positive cases, 305 active positive, 2,142 recovered, 22 deaths; Doda has 2,378 positive cases, 791 active positive, 1,549 recovered, 38 deaths; Kathua has 2,240 positive cases, 141 active positive, 2,070 recovered, 29 deaths. “Poonch has 1,967 positive cases, 764 active positive, 1,183 recovered, 20 deaths; Samba has 1,952 positive cases, 435 active positive, 1,493 recoveries, 24 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,486 positive cases, 223 active positive, 1,252 recovered, 11 deaths; Ramban has 1,438 positive cases, 124 active positive, 1,303 recovered, 11 deaths and Reasi has 1,115 positive cases, 161 active positive, 948 recovered, six deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 82,429 positive cases in J&K, 9,102 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
